Движущая сила, причина какого-либо процесса, явления; существенное обстоятельство в каком-либо процессе, явлении.
Фактор, подавляющий кроссинговер или снижающий его частоту.
F-фактор — F-factor, F-sex
Плазмида, определяющая резистентность к некоторым антибиотикам и тяжёлым металлам; содержит гены, сообщающие клетке устойчивость. Некоторые R-факторы обусловливают резистентность сразу к восьми антибиотикам.

Специфический белок, реагирующий с определённой последовательностью ДНК ( терминатором транскрипций), так что считывание генетической информации РНК-полимеразой не прекращается при прохождении данного сайта.

Фактор, влючающий все гены, ответственные за перенос фактора из клетки в клетку, который осуществляется обычно путём конъюгации.
Сложная мембраносвязанная структура с АТФазной активностью, участвующая в фосфорилировании при дыхании и фотосинтезе. Фактор сопряжения находится в мембранах митохондрий и хлоропластов.
Фактор плодовитости, фактор F; небольшие дополнительные фрагменты ДНК у некоторых клеток Escherichia coli, играющие роль фактора пола. Присутствие фактора F в бактериальной клетке как бы определяет её принадлежность к мужскому полу. В числе прочих элементов фактор F содержит гены, необходимые для синтеза F-пилей ( половых ворсинок).
